I’ve always loved nature and artistic opportunities.
When I was younger, I was often drawing, colouring and creating sculptures. My love for art and nature grew and I found myself at a point where I needed to make a decision …do I pursue art or nature? That being said, I went to Fanshawe College and completed the Commercial Art Program. Then life got in the way. I married and had two beautiful girls. I put my artistic needs to the side until my children grew and left home. Now that I have been able to pursue more of my passions, I have enjoyed creating with beach glass, pebbles, pen and ink and now creating with glass. My love for nature allowed me to gather beach glass and pebbles along the shores of Lake Erie. I have enjoyed numerous trips to Algonquin park and have created many works with an Algonquin feel. A lot of my pen and ink works share the subject of animals. One of the reasons why I love nature so much is to see animals. As much as I love nature and doing pen and ink drawings, I have found a new love of creating with glass; actually, it’s glass fusing. I have purchased a kiln and so much glass, as well as molds. As I’m a beginner, I have so much to learn but the learning curve is very steep with glass fusing. I hope I am able to bring some new creative works to you. I am very fortunate to be able to pursue my love of art and creating. Without the support and love of my husband and children this would not be possible.
