Irina Swain

Irina Swain-Russian/Canadian Contemporary artist was born in Novosibirsk, Russia in 1983.

Currently living and working as freelance artist and mother of two beautiful little kids in Chatham, ON, Canada. Irina received her Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from A.D. Kryachkov Novosibirsk State University of Architecture, Design, and Arts. (Formerly known as Novosibirsk State Academy of Architecture and Fine Arts), Novosibirsk, Russia. Later she continued her education and studied under John David Anderson (Barrie, Ontario, Canada) and Joo Young-Geun (Seoul, South Korea). In her work, Irina Swain is using watercolors, acrylic, and oil paints and enjoys combining different techniques to be used in painting landscapes, portraits, still life of realistic nature, as well as abstract impressions of life. Some of her earlier work included the use of drawings and sketches done in graphic pencil and ink. Her latest passion is creating mixed media art that can combine many different mediums and technics. Landscape paintings in front of you represent different views from Ontario and Nova Scotia. All painted in her home studio from photo references of real landscapes.
