Carol Miotto

While Carol enjoys working with a wide variety of media, her focus over the last several years has been on mixed media encaustic painting. Encaustic, a very ancient medium, involves the use of molten beeswax mixed with damar resin and pigments which has allowed Carol to incorporate original photography, drawing and sculpture in her work. Since her initial introduction to the medium by the grandmother of encaustic, Andrea Bird, she has continued to develop and explore the flexibility and never-ending possibilities that this medium provides.
