Brenda Stonehouse

I was born and raised in London, Ontario, and I live and work out of my home-studio in Wallaceburg, Ontario.

I graduated from Western University in London, Ontario, in 2014. My work has been shown in several group shows from a juried exhibition at the Museum London, to an independent show at the Spencer Gallery D.B.Weldon Library, Western University. I work in several mediums: water-colour, acrylic, and alcohol ink, however oil seems to be my go-to painting medium. My work has evolved in many different directions, but the commonality amongst all my work is that it is very much about the outdoors, nature and what it means to be Canadian. I recently attended a Plein Aire treat in northern Ontario and this experience opened some new painting objectives about colour, light and brush strokes, that is manifesting in my recent work. After a hiatus from producing and showing my work I am back. Feel free to visit my studio along the scenic Snye River on Bluewater Line in Wallaceburg, where I have many of my large pieces on display.
